Congratulations to the Brankies Choir of Holy Resurrection Cathedral in Chicago on their 109th birthday today. The concert hosted this weekend was a great tribute to the 109 years. Concert narrator, Vesna Neskow, did an excellent job of weaving the history of Brankies, anecdotes from choir and of former members, as well as, the historical information and stories behind various concert selections, composers and directors. The music selected and performed in the concert was truly outstanding. The wide range of music was stunning. Directors did an exceptional job of expanding the horizons of their choir members and the audience as well. The Brkic Children along with their father were also a part of the concert. They are the US for medical care for their eyesite. The concert ended with the traditional singing between the host and guest choirs. Congratulations to the host Brankies, the guest choir Roman the Melod of Kitchener and all the choirs in attendance on a wonderful journey through musical pleasure, spirituality and history. You truly lifted your voices to the sky! Thank God for all the blessings bestowed on these and all choirs that sing the responses to Holy Liturgy around the world.
